Applying for Child Support Using eServices

General

Who Can Apply Online for Child Support eServices

To apply online, you must have a valid social security number and be a current Florida resident.

If any of the following apply to you, please contact the Child Support Program to check for an existing case or open a new child support case:

  • You have recently applied for, or are currently receiving, food assistance or temporary cash assistance from the State of Florida. The Department of Children and Families may have already sent your information to the Child Support Program and your child support services are in progress.
  • You are seeking child support for your biological or adopted child and the other parent is the same gender as you.

The Child Support Program will not be able to open a case for you if any of the following apply to you:

  • You are seeking child support from a parent who presently lives outside the United States in a country other than one with which Florida has a reciprocal agreement. Learn more about the countries with which the Child Support Program has reciprocal agreements .
  • You are seeking child support from a parent whose full name you are not able to provide.
  • You are seeking child support for a child who is over the age of 18 and there is not an existing child support order.
  • You are seeking child support from a parent who is deceased.

How to Continue Your In-Progress Application for Services

Click or tap the Applications section on the Home Dashboard, click or tap Continue Application to access your in-progress applications. Click or tap Continue in the Actions column to continue your saved application.

How to Navigate the Application for Services

The application process will take you through the pages you need based on the information you provide.

You can use the progress bar at the top of the application pages to track your progress as you complete the application.

After you complete each page, you will see a Let’s Review page where you can review all the information you have entered so far and go back to make changes, if needed. If you need to make changes, you can click or tap the Back button to return to the previous page.

You can also use the Navigate Your Application panel to jump to any previous page in your application to make changes.

Starting the Application

You will need the following information to complete your application:

  • First and last name for each person included in the application
  • Date of birth for each child included in the application
  • Social Security Number for each person included in the application, if known
  • Employers, addresses and phone numbers for you and for the other parent(s), if known

You have 30 days to complete the application once you start it.


If you have an eServices account for another open case

Login to your eServices account and click or tap the Applications menu. Then click or tap Start New Application.

The Welcome to Child Support Application for Services page will open. This is the first of four pages to determine if you are able to have an e-Services account and apply for services online. If you are able, you will be asked to agree to the terms and conditions for online services. Read each page carefully, answer any questions, and when ready, click or tap Continue.

When you have completed these steps, the My Information page will display with some of your information filled in.


If you do not have an eServices account or another open case

Click here to start the application.

Before you can register, you will be asked if you have an open child support case in Florida. If not, click No, then Continue. If you are not sure, contact us.

Next, you will see the Welcome to the Child Support Application for Services page. This is the first of four pages to determine if you are able to have an e-Services account and apply for services online. If you are able, you will be asked to agree to the terms and conditions for online services. Read each page carefully, answer any questions, and when ready, click or tap Continue.

When you have completed these steps, the My Information page will display with some of your information filled in.

Completing the Application

How to Complete the My Information Page in the Application for Services

The My Information page is to collect your personal information for your application. Your name, social security number, date of birth and email address will be entered for you. You must complete, at a minimum, the following required information on yourself:

  • Your gender
  • Which Florida county you live in
  • Who you are seeking child support from
  • How many children you are seeking child support for
  • Who the children you want child support for primarily live with
  • How many parents, other than yourself, you will be giving information for in this application

When you have completed all the information on this page, click or tap the Save and Continue button at the bottom of the page.

How to Complete the Mother’s Information Page in the Application for Services

The Mother’s Information page is to collect the personal information about the mother of the child for which you are applying for services.

If you are the mother of the child who needs services, your name, gender, social security number and date of birth will be entered for you. You must provide, at a minimum, your mailing address to continue with your application.

If you are a father or caregiver seeking child support from the mother of the child,you must provide, at a minimum, the mother’s first and last name to continue with your application. You must also indicate whether you have a fear of physical or emotional harm from the mother.

When you have completed all the information on this page, click or tap the Save and Continue button at the bottom of the page.

How to Complete the Father’s Information Page in the Application for Services

The Father’s Information page is to collect the personal information about the father of the child for which you are applying for services.

If you are the mother or caregiver seeking child support from the father of the child, you must provide, at a minimum, the father’s first and last name to continue with your application. You must also indicate whether you have a fear of physical or emotional harm from the father. If you indicated on the My Information page you will be providing information for more than one possible father, you will need to complete a Father’s Information page for each possible father you want to name.

If you are the father of the child who needs services, your name, gender, social security number and date of birth will be entered for you. You must provide, at a minimum, your mailing address to continue with your application.

How to Complete the Children’s Information Page in the Application for Services

The Child’s Information page is to collect the personal information about the child(ren) for which you are applying for services. If you indicated on the My Information page you need child support for more than one child, you will need to complete a Child’s Information page for each child.

You must provide, at a minimum, the child’s first and last name, date of birth and gender to continue with your application. You must also select the child’s father(s), if you have already added a father to the application.

If you indicate there is a pending legal action for a child, you must notify the Child Support Program of the type of pending legal action for this child.

If you indicate there is an existing support order for this child, you must notify the Child Support Program of the name of the parent ordered to pay support and the person receiving support.

When you have completed all the information on this page, click or tap the Save and Continue button at the bottom of the page.

How to Complete the Caregiver’s Information Page in the Application for Services

The Caregiver's Information page is to collect the personal information about the caregiver of the child for which you are applying for services.

If you are the caregiver of the child who needs services, your name, gender, social security number and date of birth will be entered for you. You must provide, at a minimum, your mailing address to continue with your application.

When you have completed all the information on this page, click or tap the Save and Continue button at the bottom of the page.

Submitting the Application

How to Submit your Completed Application

Once you have completed all the required information on the Mother, Father and Child(ren) pages, the progress bar at the top of the application page will show 100% and you will be taken to a Final Review page to review all the information you have entered. If you do not have any changes, click or tap the Save and Submit button at the bottom of the page. You must agree to the application Terms of Use to submit the application.

Once your application has been submitted, you can click or tap the Print Application button to print a copy for your records. This will open a PDF document of your completed application, which you can then save to your computer or device, print or view online.

How to View or Print Your Submitted Application for Services

Click or tap the Applications section on the Home Dashboard, click or tap View Application to view your submitted applications. Click or tap View in the Actions column. This will open a PDF document of your application which you can then save to your computer or device, print or view online.

What Happens After Submitting Your Application

Once your application has been submitted, you will not be able to update or change your application online and it may take up to 20 days to process your information. The Child Support Program will notify you when your case has been opened using the email address you provided in your application. You will also be mailed a letter to the address you provided.

If the Child Support Program needs additional information, you will be contacted at the address you provided in your application.

You can login to your eServices account at any time to view or print your completed application. Once your case has been opened, you can also login to your eServices account to view the status of your case and update your case information.
