Hijos de Tómas, Madrid – SpainThe design of the venue was handled by Arquitectura Invisible, the architecture studio led by Ignacio Redruello. Provocative, cheeky, and clandestine are the adjectives that describe the aesthetic inspired by the mysterious character of Tomás. A grand piano takes center stage in a space that offers clients the chance to get intoxicated by high-quality live music every night in the heart of Madrid. Surrounding the piano is a large, typically Madrilenian bar and private booths that provide the intimacy that the night requires. All of this is enveloped in the elegance and quality that a project with the La Ancha family seal demands, and with the characteristic attention to detail of Arquitectura Invisible.FoodInSpace https://lnkd.in/dBw7Hc7ZText description: Arquitectura InvisiblePhotographer: Luz EstudioDesign Firm: Arquitectura InvisibleLead Designer: Ignacio Redruello

Ghostline Kitchens, Austin – USADesigned as a prototype flagship facility in an industrial neighborhood in South Austin, this unique project represents the evolution of the food industry. It creates an accessible and affordable food production facility that can serve chefs, bakers, restaurateurs, and food vendors in a purpose-built space designed to foster creativity, collaboration, and well-being. The project was conceived as two parts. The steel and glass coworking and lobby space is flooded with daylight, and has direct connections to covered outdoor spaces and a community-focused “fairground”. The productionkitchens and warehouse spaces are an exercise in balancing efficiency, flexibility, and comfort. The result is a highly functional and adaptable building that can transform with the ever-changing trends and technologies that pervade the food industry, all while promoting idea-sharing and collaboration.FoodInSpace https://lnkd.in/dAXZHSwQPhotographer: Chase DanielInterior Design Firm: A Parallel ArchitectureGeneral Contractor: Capital Constructors Group

The London Pub, Royal National Hotel Bloomsbury, London – EnglandThe London Pub, nestled beneath the Royal National Hotel in Bloomsbury – the City’s largest hotel offering, has re-opened following a striking interior redesign, led by acclaimed design agency DesignLSM, alongside an internal branding evolution. With the studio’s expertise in crafting exceptional hospitality spaces, this transformation delivers a modern interpretation of the City’s charm while complementing the evolving estate under the stewardship of Imperial London Hotels. At the heart of the redesign, the team were challenged to convey the essence of a ‘traditional’ London pub experience, without the opportunity of being located within a heritage property. As guests step in, they embark on a visual journey through the bustling streets of London, where eclectic art pieces and materiality, typically found in an old British pub, such as timber panelling and brass, were interpreted in contemporary ways to create a dynamic and inviting atmosphere. Vibrant modern hues harmonise with light industrial materials, seamlessly blending different eras to reflect the rich tapestry of London’s history and culture. The centrepiece of the space is undoubtedly the distinctive glowing bar, a captivating showcase of design evolution. Drawing inspiration from London’s iconic transport networks, patterns, and graphics reminiscent of tube lines and the flow of travel, a striking geometric tile wrap guides guests to this central social space that buzzes with energy. The faceted mirrors, illuminated by mesmerising lights, are a nod to the magnificent glass buildings and skyscrapers found around the city, creatively interpreting the dazzling way that light bounces off them. Meanwhile, retro-modern details such as 1970’s-style clear glass blocks, traditional oak timber, and antique brass accents evoke a sense of nostalgia, seamlessly blended with modern elements to create a unique aesthetic.Stepping outside, a large external pergola structure offers a charming outdoor social space for year-round enjoyment, where black and white tile planters contrastingly sit against bright coloured furniture, with a palette that’s been inspired by the city’s travel network. The design pillars for this project (genuine, explorative, energic and eclectic), have remained integral to creating an authentic, characterful, and friendly drinks and dining destination. Injecting new life into the venue through fun artwork, traditional detailing, and a warm ambience, DesignLSM have crafted an inviting space where guests are welcomed to rediscover the timeless allure of London’s iconic watering holes whilst enjoying a delightful menu packed full of British classics and local craft beers.FoodInSpace https://lnkd.in/dVazkRqKText description: Samphire CommunicationsPhoto courtesy: DesignLSMInterior Design Firm: DesignLSM

Olden 1772, Istanbul -TurkeyThe restaurant design process was initiated in collaboration with the Preservation Board after the historical aspects of the ancient inn were restored. Located in Fatih, the oldest district of Istanbul, our primary focus was on fulfilling the client’s aesthetic requirements while safeguarding the historical integrity and scenic vistas. The design process began with a deep appreciation for the site’s historical significance and a commitment to preserving its unique characteristics. Fatih, renowned for its rich cultural heritage and historical landmarks, provided a unique backdrop that necessitated a careful and respectful approach to design. Our initial criteria, prior to commencing the design process, were to fulfill all restaurant requirements in a manner that would not compromise the historical structure or obstruct the view of the building’s historical features. The most challenging aspect of the job was to conceive an elegant restaurant with a functional kitchen, bar, and service area seamlessly integrated as part of the structure without altering its historic fabric. Balancing modern functionality with historical preservation required innovative thinking and meticulous planning. We aimed to create a space that honored the building’s past while meeting contemporary standards for dining and hospitality. This involved extensive research into historical construction methods and materials, ensuring that any additions or modifications would be in harmony with the original architecture. Our efforts in developing lighting and acoustic scenarios for the restaurant, operating throughout the day, significantly influenced the spatial layout and design. This comprehensive approach has transformed the venue into a versatile space suitable for hosting private events, exhibitions, and catering to hotel guests, ensuring an enjoyable experience at any time of day. The lighting design was carefully crafted to highlight the architectural features of the historic inn, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Acoustic treatments were integrated to enhance the dining experience, ensuring that the space remained comfortable and conducive to conversation. The result is a restaurant that not only serves delicious food but also provides a memorable experience, with the historical ambiance seamlessly blending with modern amenities. By preserving the scenic vistas and historical integrity, we have created a space that celebrates the rich history of Fatih while providing a functional and aesthetically pleasing environment for patrons. This project stands as a testament to our commitment to preserving cultural heritage while meeting the demands of contemporary design.FoodInSpace https://lnkd.in/daX6QpXRText description: NaifPhotographer: Can AvcılarInterior Designer: Naif

Ciocolatto, Barranquilla - ColombiaCiocolatto is a 48 sqm ice cream shop that opened its second location in 2024 at Plaza del Parque Mall in Barranquilla, Colombia. The brand is known to serve unique ice cream and pops using selected ingredients, and exclusive recipes. The idea of crafting a space that evoked the brand’s ideals and soul was the starting point for the proposal which translated into a vibrant and colorful experience that feels comfortable to be around. A space as fresh and unique as the ice cream flavors, that exudes the brand's bold personality. The reduced space was optimized by creating two moments for the experience. First, the shopping, takes place around a freestanding ice cream showcase freezer alongside a topping counter. Then the Enjoying moment, takes place in the front window table, orin the side nook. Both with custom terrazzo tables that follow round shapes.By working around the brand’s famous colors, but in multiple applications in materiality, such as ceramics, cement tiles, terrazzo and metal, the office was able to deliver a bold yet friendly personality for the shop. The soft pink shade that covers most of the surfaces of the walls and ceiling, served as the canvas for the green and yellow elements that complete the space. The counter’s section was designed in green terrazzo countertops, melamine made structure with a green polyurethane paint on the front face, that sit on -made in site- bases cladded with custom green ceramic tile. Also, acustom menu was placed on the counter’s backing, made with plywood pieces with laser engraved letters. Finally, the bar table was designed with metal made structures and terrazzo surfaces for the stools and tables and the nook has made in site bench covered with a green terrazzo top and also cladded in ceramic tile.Lightning was thought to combine aesthetic and use. Every single lamp was designed by the studio and manufactured by local factories with imported led modules. This includes the custom enlightened ceiling inside the nook.FoodInSpace https://lnkd.in/dz-r-9VN Text description: Estudio ChávarroPhotographer: Diego ChávarroInterior Designer: Estudio ChávarroLead Designer: Diego ChávarroDesign Team: Juan Pulido, Felipe MurilloConstruction: ProyinarqMetal structures: Trinno

Operator Diner, Melbourne – AustraliaOperator Diner – an extension of the Operator brand with its hallmark café Operator 25 located on Wills St in the North of the CBD – sees the Operator brand take a foray into ‘breakfast, coffee and sandwiches’ for a hungry business crowd. Located in the ground floor of the new Wesley precinct between Lonsdale and Little Lonsdale Street, the diner is set to be your new lunchtime go-to.Designed with nostalgia and comfort in mind, the space draws from the imagery of classic American diners. Evoking the feeling of a place you can visit at any time of day where you will be greeted with good hot coffee, a tasty sandwich and a smile. The space creates pockets of seating framed by low walls and outlined by a grid of contrasting tiled flooring. A line of upholstered booth seating runs down the centre of the space defining the dine in and take away zones. The gridded pattern on the floor wraps up the walls to the ceiling, tying the whole space together with continuous linear lines of warm orange and brown tones. The warm colour tones, inspired by a retro 70’s palette, are a constant through the space and branding. The space is, of course, anchored by a classic open stainless-steel kitchen topped by large glowing lightboxes reminiscent of a cinema marquee displaying the days specials. The design utilises a mix of materials, from a hard tiled floor to warm timber wall lining with a bright painted ceiling that disappears into high level mirrors. The geometry and graphic nature of the gridded lines connects these somewhat contrasting materials to create one gesture throughout the whole space.FoodInSpace https://lnkd.in/djzPxzHpText description: We are Humble Pty LtdPhotographer: Peter ClarkeInterior Designer: We are Humble Pty LtdBuilder: Four Seasons Commercial Interiors

Modernika, Orel – RussiaModernika is an atmospheric culinary haven nestled in the heart of Oryol, offering a diverse selection of freshly prepared dishes, exquisite coffee, and delightful pastries. Our client's vision was to strike the perfect balance between gastronomy and creating a cozy environment, a place where patrons come not only for the exceptional cuisine but also for the inviting atmosphere. The venue boasts lofty ceilings and panoramic windows, providing an abundance of natural light. With its well-proportioned layout, the space effortlessly accommodates distinct zones – a stylish bar counter, convenient quick-bite seating, a spacious communal table, and a snug "restaurant" area. Clear distinctions between these zones were achieved through the strategic use of dual-tone flooring and ceiling paint.Adapting the existing layout from a previous establishment posed its challenges, especially in preserving certain features like the bar and kitchen placement. However, with creative ingenuity, these elements were seamlessly incorporated into the new concept. At the heart of the composition lies the serving line and the captivating bar counter – the initial focal points that greet every guest. In the seating area, a mesmerizing mural, crafted using artificial intelligence, takes center stage. Rich botanical motifs set the tone and color palette for the entire space.Brand elements from the restaurant's identity are seamlessly woven into the decor and furnishings, creating a cohesive and recognizable style.FoodInSpace https://lnkd.in/dNTuFWGEPhotographer: Maxim BondarevInterior Designer: Yarin Bureau
